Media Week
19/06/2007
Omnicom Media Group will relocate Mike Cooper, currently the Hong Kong-based chief executive of OMG Asia, to the UK before the end of the year, and is currently recruiting for his replacement.
However, the company refused to comment on speculation that he will replace David Pattison as chief executive of PHD Worldwide. Pattison left PHD in April to become the chief executive of ILG Digital, the parent company of digital agency
i-level.
Cooper began his media career at Saatchi & Saatchi in London in 1983. In 1995, he joined regional satellite broadcaster CNBC to run its Asian operations for advertising sales, distribution and marketing, before joining Omnicom in 1997 to launch OMD from scratch in Asia. He recently took on the wider Omnicom role, also overseeing PHD in the Asia Pacific region.
