Mobile search reaches new heights in the US

More people are searching more frequently for answers on their mobiles than ever before. Mobile search functions were used by 46 million mobile data users in the US in the third quarter of 2007, according to Nielsen. In the survey of more than 5,700 mobile search users, local listings was identified as the most popular objective. Millions also searched for sports, news, weather and other mobile content. While 18.1 million users dialled 411 making it the most popular form of mobile search, 14.1 million used text-messaging to search for information.
