Geek gear gets funky

As TVs become slimmer by the minute and the iPhone becomes a fashion "must-have", laptops are not only getting Twiggy thin but also lighter, brighter and funkier. Targeting the female geek, the red Samsung Q45 is hot on the heels of Apple's sleek and slender MacBook Air in the fashion stakes. Dell and Sony have also splashed out on colour. Even not-for-profit projects have added colour to their offerings -- the neon lime-green casings have become synonymous with the "one-laptop-per-child" project. Gateway's Arctic Bloom flower power laptop is another convention toppler available in Garnet, Red, Pacific Blue, Silver and Merlot.
