Think techie phone salesmen with the ability to explain complex mobile functionality; add on a degree and you have the Japanese government’s latest innovation: qualified mobile phone guides who have passed exams on the subject. The Japanese are too polite to chat loudly on public transport so silent activity such as blogging, browsing or networking is favoured. The government hopes that the well-qualified guides will be able to educate the masses on not only all the  mobile functionality available but also complex pricing plans.
