Hackers for a good cause
01/11/2007
Think hackers these days and you don’t necessarily think scoundrels up to devilish tricks. Hacking refers to the act of modifying a computer programme to provide access to otherwise unavailable features. Yahoo!’s Open Hack Days encourage this sort of behavior toward constructive ends. At the first such occasion in Asia, 100 web developers gathered in Bangalore, India and spent 24 hours building applications based on Yahoo! APIs (application programming interfaces). One of the winners was the “Most likely to arrive at next Hack Day on time” aka “Social Routing” application. Need we say more!
