BBC in unique cross-platform move
01/10/2007
Multi-tasking children in the UK are now able to watch CBBC on TV and interact with it on their PCs at the same time, initially on a Saturday morning program, TMi, according to New Media Age. Viewers will be encouraged to register at the CBBC website and interact with the presenters during the show. Channel 4 and MTV are apparently watching the progress of this closely to see if it’s worth implementing similar cross-platform initiatives. In deference to Facebook, viewers will be asked to vote online for their favourite presenter who will then end up with more “friends”. As the voting fluctuates, the presenters offer incentives to gain support, such as downloadable content.
