Visual DNA: a potential networking and marketing tool

01/09/2007

Forget Facebook. Been there done that. A fad of the past. User-generated visual DNA profiling is the future of networking on the web. Imagini.net (http://www.imagini.net created by an ex-Conran executive, Alex Wilcock is the first to do this. Users build profiles by selecting images — anything from King Kong to a Rembrandt painting — which reflect their taste. Your visual DNA is built after this process is repeated several times and compared immediately with millions of others. Users will then be able to view all the others who match their profile. The scope for brands is immense as images transcend language barriers and untapped markets become easy targets. The site attracted five people from every country within weeks of its launch.
