Yahoo! has nailed its colours to the environmental mast with an online education programme at http://green.yahoo.com. The site allows consumers to choose from a menu of environmentally friendly actions (such as recyling, or switching to low energy light bulbs) and then see the collective impact of everyone who participates on reducing carbon emissions. For US users, there’s another incentive: Yahoo! will donate 10 hybrid-fuelled Ford Escape taxis to the US city where the most users sign up to take the personal environmental pledge.
