Give the dog a phone
01/06/2007
We’ve heard of keeping tabs of your kids via mobiles, but now it seems you can check on your pets too. Using the Telia Sonera network, Swedish dog owners can attach a GPS receiver to their pet’s collar and keep track of its whereabouts. To find a missing dog, you simply send an SMS from your mobile to the pooch’s GPS receiver, which in turn sends back either a map or a text as to its location. Owners can also decide how far their dog can go walkies, with an alarm that goes off if the GPS detects it straying beyond a set limit.
