Tel Aviv sushi bar ditches waiters for e-menus
01/03/2008
Ordering sashimi for the first time at Frame, a fashionable sushi bar in Tel Aviv has never been easier. The restaurant has done away with waiters and instead installed e-menus developed by Israel software development company, Conceptic. The simple touchscreen interface not only reduces staff costs, but gets around the language barrier often associated with exotic cuisine, by providing pictures and detailed descriptions in a language of choice. The idea is similar to Microsoft’s Surface which transforms an entire table into a massive touch screen device.
