Movies given out free on the internet have been a lofty concept, until Michael Moore released his movie, Slacker Uprising, exclusively for the download market. YouTube’s platform has proved very successful for the animated and live short film genre, with up and coming Directors being able to showcase their work with the greatest of ease.

P2P set to rise by 400%

Peer-to-peer (P2P) traffic is set to skyrocket over the next five years - and the activity will not be confined to music pirates and file sharers. According to market research company MultiMedia Intelligence, P2P traffic will rise by 400% over the coming years.

Employees prefer to lose their car over their internet connection

A survey carried out by Kelton Research revealed that over 50% of mobile workers said it would be easier to go without a car for a week than relinquish internet access. A majority in the same survey said they don't mind putting in a few extra work hours for the freedom that remote computing provides.
