Some mobile search news captured the team's attention this month, with Search Co-ordinator Angus Wood looking at the recent growth of search mapping features on mobile phones. Particularly the "growth of the power of GPS mobile handsets and 3G coverage giving extra impetus to search mapping features, and drive convergence of these new features into a single user experience". Mobile provides a great platform for local search, and potentially offers an even more precisely targeted offering for advertisers.
