Tell the engines what you really think
01/07/2007
While it does require a download, Tazti (http://tazti.com/) is a voice command search engine. Compatible with the Windows speech settings based in the Control Panel, it takes a few minutes to set up. But when ready you can use it to open programs and surf the internet. You can set certain phrases to take you to certain sites, and you can use most major engines (Google, MSN, Yahoo) and even MySpace and Flickr with it. One article mentioned how it could search within search engine results for movie show-times, because it already knew your location (you set it as a default at the onset). However, when it didn't recognize the location it became quite difficult. The other problem seemed to be how sensitive it was to noise. So an open office would make it go crazy, and/or require the user to keep switching on and off accordingly. Currently in beta, there are plans to provide a separate bidding-based PPC service based on their queries too.
